Organic Carrier Oil Gift Set Review
This is a review for the carrier oil gift set by Gio Naturals!
This gift set contains four of the most beneficial carrier oils for hair, face and body. It also includes an empty bottle titled “My Blend”, allowing you to create your ideal mix of two or more oils! I thought this was such a thoughtful gift for those of us who love to play the oil mixologist.
Each carrier oil comes in a 1 ounce dark glass bottle that includes a dropper attached to the cap. This size is perfect for traveling or carrying in your bag.
What is a carrier oil? A carrier oil is a vegetable oil. It is also known as a base oil used to “carry” essential oils to the hair and body. Examples of a carrier oil are coconut, almond, grapeseed, apricot, macadamia and the list goes on.
Although essential oils are often blended with a carrier oil to treat various conditions, carrier oils are loaded with nutrients and benefits and can be used on their own.
Gio Naturals calls this the perfect carrier oil set and I have to agree. If you’re new to using oils, this set offers a variety in smaller quantities for you to try. All four oils are really all you need to enhance the beauty of your hair, face and entire body. Well… these four plus coconut oil of course!
This set contains oils that are certified organic. Whereas many companies sell blends of carrier oil, Gio Naturals offers whole organic options.
Castor Carrier Oil
Castor oil is wonderful for hair, scalp and total body. You can massage your scalp with castor oil before washing or apply it to your scalp throughout the week to increase hair growth and strength.
Although I have not tried this myself, you can apply castor oil to your eyelashes and eyebrows nightly for longer lashes and thicker brows!
Argan Carrier Oil
Argan oil is a lighter oil that is perfect for sealing moisture into the hair. I apply a moisturizer to my hair throughout the week and follow up with a nickle to quarter size amount of argan oil. This equates to about 3 to 4 drops from the bottle. It adds shine and helps reduce frizz.
Argan oil can be applied to skin to eliminate scars, wrinkles and other signs of aging.
Tamanu Carrier Oil
A fellow YouTuber shared with me her love for Tamanu oil. Tamanu is used to treat skin conditions such as eczema, scars, cold sores, stretch marks, and more. Tamanu is tinted green in color has a nutty fragrance that I love.
I have been using the Tamanu carrier oil to oil cleanse my face every day. The first time I used the oil, I was amazed at how bright and clear my skin was! Facial cleansing with a carrier oil is one of the best things I could have ever done for my skin.
Jojoba Carrier Oil
Jojoba oil is another winner for oil cleansing. It also works great for removing makeup.
Like other light carrier oils like argan and even almond oil, jojoba oil adds a nice shine to the hair and reduces frizz. I have several anti-frizz treatments and shampoos in my pantry that I’ll never use again. Oh the money I could have saved! (Smile) A few drops of jojoba oil is all I need for my hair, which is on the fine side.
I love to use it for my DIY skin products. A few weeks ago I made a variety of lips balms and glosses using both the Gio Naturals jojoba and argan oils. Click here for my lip balm video!Carrier oil DIY skin care projects in my kitchen!
This gift set is currently available on Amazon and retails for $32.95! This is a great price for an entire set of carrier oils. A 1-once bottle of Tamanu oil alone may cost half of this price.
As I always mention, it’s best to do patch tests with new carrier and essential oils to test for signs of possible allergic reactions. If you have any questions or comments about carriers oils, leave me a note below! More carrier oil info, benefits and DIY recipes are soon to come!
