Organic Beeswax by Deluxe Botanicals | Coconut Shea Butter Lip Balm

Deluxe Botanicals is a natural beauty and health company that I have become acquainted with over the last year. They have afforded me the opportunity to purchase their organic beeswax pellets at a discounted price. I have used beeswax in the past and was curious to see how their product would measure up.

First, it was beneficial to work with pellets instead of bars of beeswax. The smaller sized pellets melted and blended easier with my other lip balm ingredients.

Organic beeswax in pellet form also made it simple to measure for DIY recipes. When using beeswax bars I had to shave the beeswax down in order to measure by tablespoons or teaspoons.

Deluxe Botanicals brand of organic beeswax is 100% pure and organic. It is unbleached, triple filtered and certified organic. They have taken care to test their beeswax for the safety of cosmetic and medicinal uses.

The fragrance is mild and does not compete with desired fragrances from essential oils. The consistency when melted down and then cooled, is nice and smooth.
I used this beeswax to make a small batch of lip balm. The beeswax not only acts as a moisturizer but also helps to solidify the balm. Beeswax can also be used to make soaps, lotions, candles and more.

Using organic ingredients for your skin is something to really consider. Products that we put on our skin, including our lips, can be absorbed into the skin. This is something to think about considering many over the counter products contain various types of chemicals and toxins.

Watch my video below to see how I incorporated organic beeswax into my Coconut Shea lip balm recipe with lavender and peppermint. I was able to make 6 small pots of lip balm using just 1/2 tablespoon of beeswax (along with the other ingredients).

A one pound purchase of organic beeswax will make plenty of skin care  products.

If you try this recipe, let me know in the comments how it works for you. Feel free to adjust the ratios of organic beeswax and oil to get a favorable consistency.

    1. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! I have a DIY lip gloss recipe I’ll be posting soon! I’m still tinkering with the measurements. 🙂

  1. WOW! Sounds incredible. Making your own healthy lip balm that you know what the ingredients are. I used to make so many beauty products. I need to start again. This is a good recipe for lip balm.
