Green Tea with Coconut Oil and Honey Recipe

This blog is devoted to my passion for coconut oil. I write more of how I use coconut oil topically, but adding coconut oil into my diet has been the icing on my coconut cake!

Green tea with coconut oil is probably one of easiest ways to add coconut oil to your diet.

Coconut oil is considered a super food and is an excellent source of lauric acid. Lauric acid kills bacteria, fights viruses and infection.

You do not want to purchase just any kind of coconut oil for consumption. Fractionated or refined coconut oils are not the best options.

Green tea with coconut oil that is unrefined and organic, guarantees that you are consuming all of the nutrients the oil has to offer. Coconut oil contains vitamins E, K, and iron.

Parts of the world where coconut oil is largely consumed, is home to some of the healthiest people on the earth.

So with a need to get healthy and lose my pesky belly fat, I have a tablespoon or two of coconut oil with my tea. My favorite tea blend contains 4 ingredients that are healthy for the body and mind.

Great Tea with Coconut Oil, Honey…and Lemon!

  • 1 Green Tea Bag (if using Matcha Tea, use two small clumps)
  • 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons of Honey
  • ½ juice of a small lemon

Directions: Add coconut oil and honey to your cup. Pour in hot water to melt oil and honey together. The heat of your tea will keep the oil melted while drinking. Add your tea bag, squeeze in lemon juice and steep for a few minutes.

Adjust the amounts of oil, honey, and lemon to suit your taste. The taste of coconut oil is nutty but not overpowering in small amounts.

Adding more than one tablespoon of coconut oil could make your hot tea oily. I love the way it tastes, but with every sip there is a nice coating of coconut oil on my lips. At least I’m able skip the lip moisturizer on those mornings. 😉
